About Yeronga Physiotherapy

Established in 1993, Yeronga Physiotherapy is well known for high quality physiotherapy and core fitness classes.

Proprietor, physiotherapist, Sue O’Connor, has been practicing physiotherapy since 1977. Sue completed her bachelor of physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, St Lucia, in 1976, and since her graduation has practiced in the Brisbane area.

Sue’s approach, which incorporates ready access to Pilates and stretch classes along with home visits for patients who cannot travel to the clinic, has resulted in the evolution of a clinic that helps people to alleviate pain and keep their bodies in good shape.

What is Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, disease and disorders through physical methods — such as exercise, massage, manipulation and other treatments — over medication and surgery. Australia requires all physiotherapists to be registered. Many people may believe that physiotherapists work mainly with back and sports injuries. However, their role is a lot broader. The aim of a physiotherapist is to improve a person’s quality of life by using a variety of treatments for a range of conditions to alleviate pain and restore function. In the case of permanent injury or disease, the physiotherapist works to lessen the effects of dysfunction.
